Formerly a collegiate track and field athlete, I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development and
a Master of Arts in Sports and Fitness Administration. I spent the first few years of "the real world" working in insurance, but in my free time I often
found time to use the computer to create things. Whether I was using the computer to create a website on Wix or using Adobe to create graphics and videos
for my church... my love for technology and visuals often merged.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had more time on my hands and seriously considered how to
enter the tech field. It was something I had wanted to do since high school after taking a web design course. While in college, my track schedule did not allow
for the design courses so I decided to choose another field. After graduating, I tried the self taught route, and even pursued a CS degree, before ultimately
sitting down during the pandemic and figuring out that a bootcamp was the right track for me. I quit my job two months prior to bootcamp to focus on learning
the basics of Ruby, by October I began Flatiron School (Houston but remote due to COVID-19) learning Ruby on Rails, SQL, Javascript, and React.
I currently work as an associate analyst at Infosys, where I work primarily with Microsoft Technologies such as C#, .NET, and SQL. In my spare time, I also create websites for entrpreneurs, small businesses, and organizations. I also film and edit YouTube content. Those hobbies are somewhat a hustle... so my ACTUAL hobby is watching desk setups on YouTube, going to coffee shops, and vlogging my attempt at each.
